Job Summary:

An HVAC Install Helper assists HVAC technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in both residential and commercial buildings. The Install Helper works under the supervision of experienced HVAC technicians, performing various tasks to ensure systems are installed properly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in HVAC System Installation: Help install new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, including ductwork, thermostats, and equipment.
• Preparation of Materials and Tools: Organize and prepare tools and equipment required for installations. Ensure that the necessary materials, such as ducts, pipes, and fittings, are ready for installation.
• Transporting Equipment: Safely transport and deliver equipment and materials to and from job sites.
• Maintaining Work Area: Ensure the work site is clean and safe by removing debris and disposing of any waste materials.
• Following Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety standards and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Assisting Technicians: Provide support to lead HVAC technicians, including handing them tools, securing materials, or assisting with physical labor.
• Basic System Maintenance: Perform minor maintenance tasks under supervision, such as checking air filters or cleaning system components.
• Customer Interaction: Assist with basic customer interactions, including explaining the installation process and answering questions when needed.
• Learning HVAC Skills: Continuously learn and train in HVAC systems and best practices for installation and maintenance.

Job Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or GED. HVAC certification or technical school training is a plus but not required.

• Experience: No prior HVAC experience is necessary, though prior experience in construction, mechanical work, or other trade work is helpful.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in tight or uncomfortable spaces.
