Solar & Storage Arc Flash Analyst

We are searching for a Solar & Storage Arc Flash Analyst (Sr Electrical Engineer) on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. (W-2) The person will be joining the Power Generation Division (PGD). The Senior Engineer who can apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation and battery energy storage. This candidate will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and processes. This position requires supervision only related to high level objective and critical issues.

Employees in this role have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of areas for investigation, and development of novel concepts.
Primary areas of responsibility will include:
• Modelling and analysis of solar and battery sites using ETAP software and performing AC and DC system arc flash studies and reviews of studies performed by external engineers.
• Ensure consistent application of arc flash study standards, and continuously improve the standards as industry knowledge advances
Additional areas of responsibility may include, but not be limited to:
• Leading root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar and battery sites, and aiding field technicians with troubleshooting inverter and other issues
• Support the development of countermeasures for recurring issues
• Support responses to regulatory bodies for data requests
• Support component failure rate analysis and development of capital part replacements and work plans
• Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have an important impact on major company programs
• Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to an individual's field
• Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Bachelor's Degree in other engineering discipline with equivalent experience with electrical systems
• 5+ years of experience working in solar
• Experience with electrical system modeling software (PSSE, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, etc.)
Desired qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Advanced modeling with ETAP software
• 5 years' experience with arc flash modeling
