JOB DESCRIPTION

Arabian Rig Manufacturing's training centre in Ras Al-Khair is now hiring for the role of Technical instructor (Electro- Technical subjects). As an ARM instructor, you will be part of NOV's international technical environment serving customers worldwide. Our main activities are conducted in our facilities at Ras Al-Khair KSA, including simulators and other hands-on equipment. We also provide Training on-site, offshore, and on other NOV Training centres abroad. You will teach course participants with different backgrounds and nationalities. As an instructor in ARM, you will be exposed to many of ARM's new products and be able to stay updated on the newest technology.

Prepare and deliver courses for both customer and internal training for all Electro-technical subjects (Siemens PLC, ABB VFD, NOV Control Systems Amphion/ Cyberbase, and NOV drilling equipment TD, IR, DW, MP etc.)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Devise technical training programs according to organizational requirements that will fulfil the customer/internal needs.
  • Produce training schedules and classroom training.
  • Products training onsite onshore/offshore.
  • Determine course content according to objectives
  • Prepare/develop training material (presentations, worksheets etc.)
  • Execute training sessions, webinars, workshops etc. in groups or individually
  • Arrange for and conduct on-site training when needed
  • Keep and report data on completed courses, absences, issues etc.
  • Observe and evaluate results of training programs
  • Determine overall effectiveness of programs and make improvements
  • Maintain hands-on training equipment/simulators solutions
  • Update and maintain training curriculum, files, and documentation. Participate in equipment selection for hands on activities in the class
  • Begin every class with a safety brief.
  • Undertake domestic, international, and offshore travel for field training courses as required to train customers
  • Ensure all administrative classroom related tasks are complete prior to and after the class is finished
  • Ensure that goods and services are produced to standard of quality in accordance with the relevant departmental procedures and work instructions.
  • Review development and implementation of initiatives for improving the quality of products and services.
  • Demonstrate ability to work professionally with patience and diplomacy. Establish good communications and relationships


Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities:

Experience Required:

  • Rig experience with NOV equipment and control systems (Amphion/ Cyberbase)
  • Experience working on NOV Rig equipment's and systems (NOV Control Systems Amphion/ Cyberbase, and NOV drilling equipment TD, IR, DW, MP etc.
  • Experience in Siemens PLC S7 and ABB VFD 800, 880 Drives.
  • Proven experience as technical instructor Preferred.
  • Experience in designing technical course content.


Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Working knowledge in MS Office.
  • Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Degree in a relevant electrical technical field.
  • Technical knowledge on ABB, Siemens, and NOV Drilling equipment and Control systems.
