Summary:
The Plant Manager II will lead a team of field service technicians in all duties needed to successfully operate a utility-scale solar facility. Responsibilities center around managing preventative and corrective maintenance of solar assets.
Requirements:
- Oversees the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of a 400-600 MW Solar facility.
- Manages on-site team of solar technicians.
- Coordinates warranty and repair work with manufacturer.
- Manages project subcontractors.
- Manages maintenance/outage schedule.
- Manages site budget and reports variances.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develops, implements, and oversees site operating and safety plans.
- Builds productive relationships with project stakeholders (landowner, project owners, OEMs, etc).
- Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.
- Troubleshoots low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems.
- Identifies faulty or underperforming equipment.
- Ensures all work is recorded in computerized maintenance management system.
- Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls as identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.
- Manages site inventory.
- Attends and conducts regular meetings with project stakeholders.
- Operates Company aligned vehicles in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

- Able to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications:
- Highschool/GED Required.
- Associate degree in related technical field required.
- OHSA 10/30 preferred.
- FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Preferred.
- Infrared Thermography (any level) preferred.
- 5 years or more related electrical maintenance experience.
- 5 years or more medium voltage electrical work experience.
- 3 years or more high voltage electrical work experience.
- 3 years or more managing or leading field technicians.
- Be self-motivated, able to think quickly and address issues as they arise.
- Intermediate Excel and Office skills.
- Ability to use and troubleshoot basic office equipment (printer, scanner, fax etc.)
- Understanding of network equipment, troubleshooting a plus.
- Advanced record keeping skills.
- Skilled in Public relations and Leadership.
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Basic electrical (low voltage) and switching (high voltage) knowledge and experience.
- Understand electrical testing procedures and diagnostic equipment commonly used in utility scale wind projects.
- Basic mechanical skills preferred.
- First Aid and CPR a plus.
- Social skills/team player.
- Must be available on a 24/7 basis to occasionally respond to urgent operational issues.
- Must meet body weight requirements for the safety regulations and safety equipment limits.
- Ability to climb the wind turbine tower (110 meters) occasionally for HSE / LOTO, or work inspection and other related WTG audit activities.
- Must be legally able to work in applicable state or province.
- Functional competencies include accountability, demonstrating active care, attention to detail, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Domestic travel 5-15%
- Valid Driver's license required.
