An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Procurement Supervisor to join a dynamic and growing organisation. This role is critical to ensuring the effective management of the procurement function, delivering cost-effective sourcing, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to support business operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading procurement activities, developing sourcing strategies, optimising supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement within the procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to support the organisation's objectives and drive efficiency across procurement operations
- Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle including identifying requirements, sourcing suppliers, evaluating proposals, negotiating contracts, and monitoring supplier performance
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement needs, forecast demand, and develop comprehensive procurement plans
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify and assess potential suppliers and stay informed on market trends
- Lead the supplier selection process, negotiate pricing and contractual terms, and build long-term partnerships with key suppliers
- Monitor procurement activities to ensure full compliance with organisational policies, legal standards, and ethical guidelines
- Analyse procurement data and produce performance reports, identifying areas for improvement and making strategic recommendations
- Keep updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and procurement best practices to foster innovation
- Train, mentor, and support procurement staff in developing professional skills and adhering to procurement procedures
- Manage and resolve procurement-related issues including supplier performance disputes and contract non-compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 8 years' working experience, with at least 5 years in a relevant procurement role
- Previous experience in the GCC region is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, processes, and methodologies
- Solid understanding of procurement laws, regulations, and ethical standards
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems (preferably SAP), and Microsoft Office applications
- In-depth knowledge of local supplier markets and sourcing strategies
- Ability to lead and mentor procurement teams effectively
