Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for compiling, consolidating, and analysing financial data to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general and cost accounting activities requiring analytical skills and depth of understanding
• Apply standard accounting techniques and practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions
• Ensure the accurate handling of financial transactions within designated approval limits
• Assist in the preparation of management information system (MIS) reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements, accounting records, and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting standards
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of all financial reports, ensuring clarity and real-time availability
• Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial obligations to forecast future revenues and expenses
• Establish and maintain a complete and accurate chart of accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded properly
• Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, comparing budgeted costs against actuals to produce detailed variance reports
• Implement and maintain record-keeping and accounting systems utilising current technology for real-time financial reporting
• Perform internal audits of accounts payable, payroll distribution, fixed assets, and cash handling; record correcting journal entries where necessary
• Appraise, evaluate, and inventory real property and equipment, ensuring all assets are properly recorded and accounted for
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements

   

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional qualification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) preferred
• Minimum 5 years' working experience, with at least 3 years in a relevant accounting position
• GCC experience (2 years) is advantageous
• Strong understanding of financial markets, banking processes, and month-end closing procedures
• In-depth experience in financial management, accounting standards, and financial data reporting
• Excellent knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP)
• Proficient in the use of accounting tools and software
