As a Commercial/Contracts Manager for our hydroelectric project, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of the project. Your primary duties will include managing contracts, negotiating terms, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and mitigating risks. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the project within budget and on schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders. Ensure all contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Negotiation: Lead negotiations with contractors and suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks. Develop strategies to minimize potential disputes and claims.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and ensure financial targets are met. Provide regular financial reports to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, legal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Dispute Resolution: Handle any disputes or claims that arise during the project. Work towards amicable resolutions to maintain project progress.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all contracts, negotiations, and communications. Ensure proper documentation for audit and review purposes.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., RICS, PMP) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in contract management, in the construction or energy sector. Experience with hydroelectric projects is highly desirable.
  • Preparation of Tender Documentation of Hydroelectric power plant.
  • Administration of Tender process of hydroelectric power plant.
  • Preparation of contracts/agreement for hydroelectric power plant.

Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of contract law and commercial practices.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
