We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Wastewater Treatment Operator I working within the Meat Department, based out of our warehouse located in Lancaster, Texas.
The Wastewater Treatment Operator reports to the Maintenance Supervisor in the Meat Department and is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the onsite wastewater treatment plant in order to comply with local and state regulations which includes daily sampling and chemical adjustment as needed, basic mechanical checks, level monitoring and sending samples off for lab analysis. Qualified individuals will be critical thinkers that are able to understand chemistries as it relates to pH, BOD & TSS and make adjustments as needed to ensure acceptable effluent of our wastewater stream.

General Responsibilities:
- Perform daily rounds of WWTP documenting issues as they arise
- Perform regular maintenance of WWTP system
- Will troubleshoot WWTP system, address mechanical issues, including but not limited to motor swaps and pump repairs
- Take water samples daily and analyze for Turbidity and pH (adjust chemical dosing as required)
- Perform preventative maintenance on all aspects of the WWTP system as needed to ensure proper care and operation
- Communicate any alarms/issues to supervisor as to prevent any untreated discharge to the water company
- Take monthly samples for external lab analysis and regulatory compliance
- Document all chemical levels and order replenishments as needed
- Will respond to alarms after hours (as needed from time to time)
Work Schedule + Benefits:
- Full-time position, Hourly (non-exempt)
- Schedule- May vary according to the needs of the business, but typically range from 8:00 am-4:30 pm, Sunday thru Thursday
- Some overtime as needed

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years related experience
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Ability to understand and comply with local permitting authorities
- Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate Grade II or higher (required)
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Ability to lift 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in high, precarious places
- Ability to work near moving mechanical machinery
- Ability to work in wet, humid conditions
