We are seekingan experienced Water & Wastewater Facilities Team Lead to join our Houston, Texas office. The ideal candidate will have 15 or more years of experience in planning, designing, and managing municipal water and wastewater treatment projects. In this role, you will lead the Facilities Team in securing and delivering projects, including water and wastewater treatment plant expansions, process improvements, pump stations, and lift stations. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and strengthening client relationships to expand KFA's market presence. This position reports directly to the Water Business Practice Lead/Vice President.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:
  • Collaborates with the Water Practice Lead to develop, maintain, and implement strategic, business development, and operational plans for the Facilities Team.
  • Sets goals, monitors progress and evaluates outcomes to align with firm objectives.
  • Manages staff responsible for feasibility studies, design, and construction administration of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water projects.
  • Oversees hiring, mentoring, and direction of team members.
  • Assigns and prioritizes projects to ensure schedules are met.
  • Ensures portfolio of projects stay within budget.
  • Implements quality management processes.
  • Supports the team in resolving complex challenges.
  • Manages and serves as a technical resource for complex project deliverables.
  • Identifies and mitigates risk management issues.
  • Functions as a project manager for complex projects.
  • Builds and nurtures relationships with state regulatory authorities.
  • Reviews and approves proposals and contracts for scope, fee, and quality.
  • Develops strong relationships with current and prospective clients, including municipalities, River Authorities, and local agencies.
  • Participates in proposal writing and contract review processes.

Requirements:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • 15+ years of civil engineering experience, focused on water and wastewater treatment and facilities engineering.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale projects for municipalities and public agencies.
  • Extensive experience in management, supervision, and leadership.
