This Position reports to:

Key responsibilities

The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

• You will support our research team in the development of next-generation actuation technologies utilizing electric motors and actuators.
• You will design and commission a hardware-in-the-loop testing environment for the versatile testing of state-of-the-art actuation technologies.
• You will design a power electronic converter, starting from topology selection, component sizing, component selection for high- and low-power electronics and commissioning of the complete drive system.
• You will develop and validate an FPGA-based, highly dynamic real-time closed-loop control system using cRIO real-time controller.
• You will benchmark different current and position control methods for state-of-the-art actuators.
• You will document your work and present the key results to your team members.

Qualifications for the role

• Study in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
• Experience in designing and commissioning power electronic hardware and digital control systems
• Technical know-how in LabView; hands-on experience with NI cDAQ and cRIO is a strong plus
• Proactive, curious, and self-motivated - able to work both independently and in teams
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus
