Job Purpose

Assist in developing and implementing of Environment and Occupational Health department objectives and strategies, with a focus on industrial hygiene, providing technical support, awareness training, and maintaining
records in line with ADNOC Distribution HSE objectives.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Risk Management and Compliance:
• Assists in developing, tracking, and ensuring proper implementation of ADNOC Distribution Health, Safety and Environment Strategic Objectives specifically in the field of Environment and Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene Management.
• Support Senior Industrial Hygienist in conducting industrial Hygiene Risk Management
• Assist in Health, Safety and Environment Management System audits and follow up of identified risks
• Assists in identifying risks in the workplace and advises on how to avoid and control them.
• Supports all Facilities for the development and implementation of the site / facility specific Industrial Hygiene prevention / protection measures, Risk Management & ensures HSE Control Measures are implemented.

Surveys and Research:
• Identifies impact of various occupational health and hygiene risks on the public
• Assists in performing industrial hygiene surveys in the workplace, Heat Stress monitoring, Noise Surveys, Chemical exposure monitoring, Lighting surveys, and Ergonomic studies.
• Conducts research on new developments and advancements in the field of Industrial Hygiene and shares findings with the team.

Training and Reporting:
• Assists in the development and delivery of training and awareness programs for employees and public.
• Assists in the preparation of reports and presentations for management.
• Maintains records and documentation related to occupational health activities and initiatives.

Generic Accountabilities Supervision:
• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets:
• Provide input for preparation of the Department/ Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
• Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department / Section's work programs in line with Company and International standards.
• Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Performance Management:
• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability:
• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Standards

Reports:

• Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management

Minimum Qualification

Bachelors degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or HSE related equivalent qualification.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• 4 years' experience in HSE preferably within a retail or oil and gas industry
• Understanding and capability of performing industrial hygiene measurements and evaluations e.g. area and personal noise monitoring, BTEX, heat stress, mercury vapor, welding fume and indoor air quality.

• Experience in implementing several core industrial hygiene programs such as Hearing Conservation Program (HCP), Respiratory Protection Program (fit testing), Hazardous Substance Management Program, Personal Protective Equipment management program, and Food Safety Program.
• Experience in delivering training programs and campaigns e.g. manual handling, chemical handling, PPE, and hearing conservation program.
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Demonstratable interpersonal skills.
• Administration experience, familiar with MS Office.
• Capable to communicate in English for both written and oral.

Certification:
• Possess a professional certification in health, safety and environment or industrial hygiene (i.e.
NEBOSH, IOSH, BOHS,AIHA, ) or equivalent
