Job Posting: Generation E (Entrepreneurship) Teacher - Arborwood South Elementary School (Grades 5-6)
Position Purpose: Monroe Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and innovative Generation E Teacher to serve students in grades 5 and 6 at Arborwood South Elementary School for the 2025/2026 school year. This position is designed to introduce students to entrepreneurship through engaging, project-based learning that encourages innovation, problem-solving, and real-world application. The Generation E program prepares students with foundational knowledge in business, leadership, financial literacy, and creative thinking-skills that are essential for future college and career success.

The Generation E program prepares students with foundational knowledge in business, leadership, financial literacy, and creative thinking-skills that are essential for future college and career success.
Essential Functions
- Design and implement an age-appropriate entrepreneurship curriculum aligned with Michigan's educational standards, including MITECS and the Michigan Career Development Model.
- Engage 5th and 6th grade students in interactive lessons exploring business planning, marketing, product development, financial literacy, customer service, and ethics.
- Incorporate hands-on learning through simulations or student-led business ventures that encourage creativity and collaboration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and promote inclusion and accessibility.
- Foster a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, teamwork, student agency, and responsible citizenship.
- Integrate technology effectively to enhance learning and support entrepreneurial projects.
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction using a variety of formative and summative methods.
- Collaborate with other educators, families, and community partners to enrich the curriculum and provide real-world connections.
- Participate in professional development, curriculum alignment, and school-wide initiatives.
- Uphold Monroe Public Schools' vision of preparing all students to be college and/or career ready.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with one or more of the following endorsements:
- Elementary Education (ZG)
- Business Education (GQ) or Marketing Education (GM) (preferred but not required)
- Experience or coursework in entrepreneurship, economics, or career readiness for youth
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Experience working with upper elementary or middle-grade students
- Strong communication, classroom management, and instructional design skills
- Familiarity with integrating project-based learning, technology tools, and career development concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in business, marketing, or entrepreneurship
- Knowledge of the Michigan Integrated Technology Competencies for Students (MITECS)
- Experience working in cross-curricular teaching teams or STEAM environments
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with local businesses or community groups for project enrichment
Terms of Employment:
- Full-time teaching position beginning in the 2025-2026 school year
- COMPENSATION Per Teacher Master Agreement
