Join the Control Systems Actuation team that designs, develops, and integrates highly complex actuation systems products within Honeywell Aerospace. You will work across disciplines within the Mechanical Systems and Components business to drive growth of actuation systems that position aircraft control surfaces for Urban Mobility, fin actuation for missiles and nozzle actuation for launch vehicles.

You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will be involved in every aspect of the systems life cycle. This role will partner with a technical leader to assist in the execution of design and development, system requirements definition and validation analysis including architecture, functionality and dynamic performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand technology
  • Support system requirements definition and validation analysis including architecture, functionality and dynamic performance.
  • Support hardware and software requirements definition and analysis including key characteristics and performance aspects, electrical and data bus interfaces
  • Support development process coordination and handoffs between internal and external stakeholders, communication with chief engineering and technical management.
  • Support system integration test support including facility architecture and requirements, test plans/procedures, test execution support and results review.
  • Support Control System Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) Analysis involving issue troubleshooting at the aircraft or system level and definition of robust solutions to identified test problems.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics (preferably Mechanical, Aerospace, or Robotics Engineering)
  • All applicants must be US Citizens, due to contractual requirements


WE VALUE

  • Masters degree in system design and controls or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of the systems and component development lifecycles
  • Experience with systems requirement flow down
  • Experience with DOORs
  • Experience developing RCCA plans and execution, with demonstrated results.
  • Experience developing motor driven actuation systems
  • Experience with aerospace actuation component development and system integration.
  • Experience with implementing control architecture in electronic controller applications
  • Experience with Real Time hardware in the loop controller development
  • Control theory basics (block diagram representations of nonlinear and linearized systems, frequency response, gain and phase margins, time constants and interactions, etc.
  • Systems simulation (proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and Excel or other performance modeling software)
  • Thermodynamics experience
  • Fluid dynamics experience
  • Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts.
  • Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
  • Effective communicator
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
  • Ability to adapt dictated by project changes
  • Multi-tasking and has the ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Experience with systems requirement V&V
