Housing Repairs Service Trades Apprenticeship Advert

Sheffield City Council's Housing Repairs Service carries out repairs and maintenance to over 50,000 Council homes.

This year, we are offering an amazing 16 Apprenticeship opportunities to launch your career in the Trades services with a September 2025 start.

The 16 Apprenticeship opportunities are available across six different Trades: Gas Fitters; Plumbers; Joiners; Plasterers; Painters and Bricklayers.

As an Apprentice, you will:

• Receive a great rate of pay whilst you learn
• Be fully funded to complete a recognised qualification
• Receive one day off the job per week for study leave at college (during term time)
• Receive hands-on/practical experience in an experienced team environment
• Have a great peer support network
• Have the potential to secure a permanent job with us upon successful completion of your Apprenticeship.

Please clearly state on your application which Trade/Apprenticeship, from the six named above, you wish to undertake.

Qualifications:

For Gas Fitters we are looking for (or working towards) a Grade 5 / Strong Pass (in English and Maths)

For all Plumbers / Plasterers / Joiners / Bricklayers / Painters we are looking for (or working towards) a Grade 4 / Standard Pass (in English and Maths).

Interviews will take place in June and July.
