Role Summary
As Associate Director, you will play a pivotal role within our growing Transport Advisory team. You will oversee all aspects of the practice, including operational direction, technical expertise, and business administration. Your leadership will support strategy implementation whilst leading and managing a team of professional staff and associates to deliver high quality Transport Advisory solutions to clients. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contributing to delivery of projects across the whole lifecycle - from strategic demand and operations planning during feasibility studies or business case phase, through development of operational plans and requirements during procurement, and onto delivery and operational readiness.
- Manage all aspects of relevant consultancy assignments undertaken by team members including allocation, estimating, tendering, planning, execution and close out.
- Ensure that each assignment or project is undertaken by individuals or by teams having appropriate levels of qualifications, professional expertise, and experience.
- Prepare responses to 'Requests for Tender' and other bidding opportunities, involving team members as appropriate.
- Develop business plans in support of the identified ideas and champion their development and implementation.
- Establishing a win-work culture within the team, with opportunity pipeline recorded and
- managed within CRM.
- Manage teams of SMEs including those based locally, domestically and globally
Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities:
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject.
- Extensive experience in railway operations and maintenance, including ensuring operational readiness for major rail projects.
- The ability to oversee and coordinate the development and implementation of maintenance strategies, development of operational concepts and principles, the management of operational risks, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Excellent technical, project management and communication skills to lead the delivery of strategic and technical advisory engagements.
- Able to establish and maintain a network of clients and collaborators.
- Ability to engage with and represent AtkinsRéalis in front of senior stakeholders and government representatives.
- Adept at communicating complex ideas to senior non-specialists, including writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to support the growth of the business in this sector by leveraging relationships with existing and future client contacts.
