Technical & Engineering Design Manager, PE - Power Generation (senior level)

Job Information:
  • Requires onsite work based out of Vorhees, NJ (or our Philadelphia office, or our Princeton office) and occasional regional travel to visit clients (please do not apply if you seek only remote work, must work "in-office"). This an advanced, senior level management position - experience in design and executing project is required. PE license required and cannot be waived.
  • Direct hire, well established engineering firms with offices across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
  • Direct hire, paying $190,000 - $225,000 annually plus full benefits package (medical, vision, dental, 401K, PTO, Paid Holidays, etc.
  • Must possess Professional Engineer (PE) license

Technical and Engineering Design Manager, PE Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and leads large capital improvement projects for local and regional power plants, refineries, and leads other large scale engineering projects. Design to delivery
  • Serves as technical lead with all major designs & layouts
  • Designs large and technical mechanical systems, develops equipment and systems specs.
  • Provides hands-on engineering project management by consistently reviewing project plans and drives projects to completion
  • Serves as project coordinator: internal, external, sub-contractors, etc.
  • Conducts peer review, technical oversight and QC of entire Design team's work and product.
  • Works very closely with VP of group to respond to urgent client needs, RFP's, contracts, cost estimates, budgets, etc.
  • Puts together meetings with stakeholders as necessary and ensure participation
  • Maintains excellent client relationships, answers the phone and puts client needs before all others.
  • Attend trade shows, business development activities, marketing initiatives, etc.
  • May assist with bids, proposals, and budget monitoring
  • Attends client meetings, engages with clients, works independently
  • Provides hands-on engineering project management by consistently reviewing project plans and drives projects to completion

Technical and Engineering Design Manager, PE Requirements:
  • Must possess Professional Engineer (PE) license and desire to join a fast-growing, sophisticated and reliable engineering firm and have the drive to push projects to completion on-time, on-budget and within client parameters. "Make-it-happen attitude."
  • 10+ years of professional engineering experience with a proven track record in Mechanical Design, preferably from the power generation, distributive generation or related engineering field.
  • 4-year Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from an accredited US college or university is a must. MBA highly desired. PE requirement cannot be waived.
  • Must possess confident communication skills, be able to speak at meetings and articulate updates to clients
  • Excellent oral communication and computer skills. Must be able to articulate information to clients, their staff and related stakeholders such as sub-contractors and inspectors.
  • Advanced computer skills: MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc. and other similarly related computer skills
