Job Purpose
Plan analysis programs and participate in special test procedures to analyse chemical composition and physical properties of samples according to international testing standards and lab procedures for non-routing analysis. Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods.
Job Specific Accountabilities
• Support all activities in the laboratories, with regard to analytical determinations of all process stream and product samples using internationally accepted Standard Analysis Methods and to HSE guidelines.
• Follow the established testing procedures and monitor the results to make certain they are accurate and in accordance with Company specifications.
• Carry out special tests, which may involve advanced techniques, the use of special apparatus or modifications to traditional testing methods.
• Calibrate and monitor instruments in the laboratory to ensure their testing performance is accurate.
• Prepare and standardize solutions and reagents used in laboratory and maintain records.
• Monitor the operation and inform Laboratory Section Head of abnormal operating parameters that may be prevailing.
• Coordinate with regard to analysis schedules, test runs, shutdowns, start-ups, technical surveys and inspection-related analysis of sludge and scales for corrosion control.
• Conduct installations. Pre-commissioning and commissioning tasks on the assigned new QC equipment installation projects.
• Maintain optimum inventory of chemicals, testing apparatus, equipment and glassware for the efficient operation of the Laboratory. Ensure that such are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition. Prepare requisitions for chemicals.
• Conduct laboratory equipment frontline maintenance and analytical instrument troubleshooting.
• Participate in the preparation of capital and operating budgets for the Laboratory to meet testing requirements and monitor/control expenditure. Contribute to the preparation of 5-year plan for Laboratory.
Minimum Qualification
• Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
• 6 years of the same or similar experience in the oil and gas industry
