JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accounting Supervisor to lead and oversee the daily operations of our project accounting team. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with SOX regulations, and adherence to company policies through thorough reviews of monthly accounting activities and financial reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge in revenue recognition and project accounting, demonstrate leadership in team coordination, and drive continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly revenue recognition processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SOX, contracts, and company policies.
• Review and validate balance sheet reconciliations including BEIX, CEIX, Unbilled, Deferred Revenue, and WIP accounts.
• Coordinate and manage monthly and quarterly close tasks with accounting staff.
• Provide ongoing training, performance feedback, and support to team members to ensure accurate task execution.
• Assign and reassign projects monthly in preparation for close activities.
• Conduct monthly project close-out analyses and participate in reconciliation meetings.
• Supervise the intercompany project charge process, including Cross OU and Commingle activities.
• Ensure accuracy in quarterly QDM accounting control schedules.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including project managers and finance departments to support accounting processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements for increased efficiency and resource use.
• Prepare clear task instructions for delegated work and report anomalies post-monthly reviews.
• Contribute to ad hoc requests, automation initiatives, and special projects.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)
• Minimum 4 years of professional accounting experience
• Experience in the manufacturing industry (Preferred)

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of SOX compliance and revenue/project accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate required) and Microsoft Suite (Preferred)
• Experience with Oracle, Alteryx, Power BI/Query (Preferred)
• Auditing experience (Preferred)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
