About the Role:
We are a leading provider in the petroleum equipment industry, committed to delivering top-quality composite storage solutions, innovative solutions, and exceptional customer service. We are currently seeking a highly driven and experienced Western Sales Director to lead our sales efforts across the Eastern United States.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of three Regional Sales Managers, one Business Development Representative, one Inside Sales Representative, and 10 external sales agents. You will drive sales performance, manage customer escalations, and ensure strategic execution to meet revenue goals across the territory.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Directly manage and develop a team of Regional Sales Managers and an Inside Sales Manager focused on petroleum equipment sales.
- Indirectly manage manufacturing representatives (sales agents) contracted by our team and reporting through the Regional Sales Managers.
- Provide hands-on coaching, regular performance feedback, and strategic guidance to drive growth and accountability.
Territory Performance & Strategy
- Oversee territory sales performance against plan; identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Adjust sales strategies and tactics to ensure consistent achievement of revenue targets across markets.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and customer service teams to support sales execution and territory needs.
Customer Escalation & Relationship Management
- Act as the primary escalation point for customer issues that arise from the regional teams.
- Resolve disputes efficiently while maintaining strong long-term relationships with key customers and distributors.
- Support high-value or strategic customer meetings when necessary.
Industry Engagement & Field Presence
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, distributor events, and customer site visits.
- Maintain a regular presence in the field (30%-50% travel) to support team members and deepen customer engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in sales: petroleum equipment, fuel systems, or related industrial markets preferred.
- Proven experience managing multi-state sales teams and driving performance in a competitive B2B environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of petroleum equipment products and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and customer resolution skills.
- Comfortable with CRM tools, data analysis, and reporting.
