Job Description Summary

The Test Enabling Hardware Sub-Section Manager leads a team of mechanical design engineers who are responsible for designing hardware required to interface between engine and facility or to emulate airframer/customer hardware, which is required to successfully execute engine test campaigns. The Sub-Section Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In the role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

As the Sub-Section Manager, key responsibilities will include:
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel
  • Provide support, counsel and recommendations to section management
  • Establish team goals within framework of section technical and financial objectives
  • Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
  • Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within the team
  • Communicate with management on technical, organizational, resource and personnel issues
  • Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel
  • Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning
  • Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling
  • Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented within work group


Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer

Science from an accredited university or college

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an

engineering environment
