Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join our Infrastructure Water team in Cambridge.

We're working on a major new project to build a modern waste water treatment plant at Honey Hill, just north of the A14 between Horningsea and Fen Ditton. This new plant will replace the current one in the northeast of Cambridge.

The Senior buyers' role is to consist of implement the procurement deliverables agreed from the portfolio strategy. Challenging and negotiating long-term and short-term transactions with framework and non-framework partners.

The overall aim for the Senior Buyer is to fully integrate within the project teams.

What will you be doing as our new Senior Buyer:

• Implement and support the agreed portfolio & procurements strategies
• Aggregate demand across both programme areas WR & W
• Fully evaluate the procurement schedule(s) to ensure all relevant information to support
• the procurement of goods & services have been included
• Undertake full CBA's and TBA's to promote the right selection of the supply chain partner
• Notify key items for expediting allocated to specific schemes
• Support Fit for assembly, project rehearsals and Plan for stages
• Support, manage and implement effective procurement via the estimate aligned to the
• supply chain by project or portfolio
• Undertake the RFQ process as and when required
• Ensure all procurement is EU compliant
• Ensure all critical items have been noted for expediting
• Capture and report all benefits achieved
• Ensure our H&S processes and procedures are implemented throughout all deliverables
• Ensure all subcontracts have been fully completed and reflect the relevant NEC3 contract
• agreed with the supply chain provider (Framework / Non Framework)
• Assess and implement efficiencies via value added approaches from within the supply chain

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours:

• Experience in Senior Procurement/sourcing role

• Working towards or membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or the European Institute of Purchasing Management (EIPM).
• Relevant degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management.
