Your role and responsibilities

Financial Markets • Best practice market execution of financial markets products, typically FX and commodity derivatives for ABB businesses in China. • Connecting with the global FMR workstream and understanding real financial markets risks the company is facing. • Understand foreign exchange and commodity market price movements and their associated effects on the valuation of outstanding derivative hedge contracts and be able to support the business to explain the related impacts to accounting, income statement and cash flows. • Support to ensure that our businesses have adequate visibility and understanding of FX and commodities impacts and quantifiable real risks arising from underlying exposures and related hedges. Regulatory expertise • Exposure to and practical experience from financial markets dealing in China and strong understanding of related regulations. Continuous learning • Strong passion for financial markets in general and drive to seek out and implement best practises. • Promote adherence to and understanding of FX and Commodities risk management Policy across the group.

Qualifications for the role

• University level education (preferably master's degree).
• At least 4+ years professional experience in treasury, financial markets and/or banking.
• Previous experience in transacting foreign exchange and commodity derivatives combined with excellent understanding of the associated risks.
• Knowledge/experience of how market risks and hedging strategies impact business results, performance KPI's and accounting.
• Good understanding of a broad range of treasury topics, instruments, tools and processes especially regarding foreign exchange and financial markets risk management.
• Disciplined working style, ability to effectively adhere to strict deadlines
• Excellent oral and written Mandarin Chinese and English / additional language skills are a plus.
• Experience in working with global teams, with an understanding for, and respect of, diversity and cultural differences and other diversity factors.

Take the next step in your career at ABB by becoming Treasury Specialist, Financial Markets in the Financial Markets Risk Management (FMR) workstream of Corporate Treasury. The FMR workstream is globally responsible for financial markets risk management process design, implementation, exposure analysis and transactional execution for the ABB Group in accordance with Corporate Treasury's global mandate. The workstream owns end-to-end processes that identify financial market risk exposures arising from changes in foreign exchange rates, interest rates, and commodity prices. It provides expert advice to the company's Business Areas and Divisions on related risk mitigation strategies and contributes to analyses assessing the impact on business performance. In addition, FMR manages ABB Group's global short-term funding as well as liquidity and corporate cash investments within pre-defined risk parameters. Financial Markets is one of the three sub-processes withing the FMR workstream, it is the dealing interface vis-à-vis financial markets. Financial Markets executes all foreign exchange, interest rate and commodity hedging derivative transactions for ABB. The team invests ABB's corporate cash and manages interest rate risks arising from company's cash and debt portfolios. Reporting to the Head of Financial Markets Risk Management in Corporate Treasury, you will work closely also with other Treasury teams as well as finance teams of ABB Business Areas and Divisions.
