We are Seeking a Director - Strategic Energy Management (SEM)
We're seeking a visionary Director of Strategic Energy Management (SEM) to lead with purpose and drive a transformative impact with our customers and with Cascade Energy. In this leadership role, you'll champion the operations and performance of our SEM Business Unit, ensuring we exceed our mission-driven goals while delivering strong profitability for our employee owners. You'll inspire and empower SEM Program Managers to achieve ambitious energy savings, motivate customers and participants to do more than they ever imagined, foster team evolution and growth, and scale up a thriving, profitable operation.
Partnering with the VP of Energy Services, you'll shape and execute bold strategic plans that will grow SEM to new scope and scale. Collaborating with Strategy & Products, you'll initiate innovation, evolving our SEM delivery in industry leading ways and effectively guiding organizational change at scale. Working closely with Customer Engagement and Marketing, you'll uncover new opportunities, amplify our growth, and elevate Cascade Energy's position as a national leader in energy efficiency and decarbonization. Responsibilities
This is a full-time, exempt position and can be located anywhere in the U.S. This position will require approximately 20% travel, one to three days duration. Weekend travel is rare, but possible.

Compensation & Benefits
Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. The salary range (National Average) for this position is $137,500 - $172,000/year. However, the final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location.

Responsibilities
- Champion the financial success of the SEM Business Unit, driving profitability and sustainable growth.
- Elevate the performance of the SEM Business Unit by developing innovative key performance indicators, fostering clear communication, and setting ambitious expectations.
- Harness the strengths and address the weaknesses in our SEM delivery, redefining roles, responsibilities, systems, and processes to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and excellence.
- Lead transformative changes within the organization, inspiring positive evolution in our SEM product and delivery.
- Empower Program Managers to deeply understand client priorities and program budgets, scaling our delivery to exceed expectations.
- Collaborate with Program Managers and delivery staff to embrace standardized and automated approaches to SEM, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in reporting and modeling.
- Cultivate strong relationships with top-tier clients, partners, and subcontractors, ensuring exceptional client service, satisfaction, and profitability.
- Oversee and mentor Program Managers, guiding them in managing individual program contracts, key performance indicators, deliverables, and budgets.
- Optimize workload distribution among SEM staff, maintaining high billable hours, expanding skillsets, and enhancing delivery quality.
- Develop and implement recovery plans with Program Managers for off-schedule and unexpected outcomes, addressing technical challenges, performance shortfalls, budget constraints, and client issues.
- Partner with the Outreach Manager and team to ensure successful program recruitment and engagement.
- Collaborate with Learning and Development to mentor, train, and develop SEM staff, including Program Managers, SEM Coaches, and Program Specialists.
- Work closely with the Project Engineering Team and subcontractors, setting clear expectations and processes for Technical Leads and other key roles within SEM delivery teams.
- Identify and seize high-value opportunities with Strategy & Products and SEM Program Managers to enhance key metrics in SEM delivery and program design, including increased site energy savings, cost-effectiveness, energy savings persistence, adoption of energy management practices, client satisfaction, and profitability.
- Collaborate with Corporate Energy Management to refine Cascade energy management methods, improving both CEM and SEM.
- Empower Customer Engagement and Marketing teams with the information they need to:
- Estimate time and budget for delivering innovative SEM solutions.
- Participate in marketing, sales, thought leadership, and business development efforts, providing practical insights on new ideas.
- Leverage Cascade's market position to influence SEM Collaborative efforts nationwide.
- Support trade conference planning, papers, and presentations for SEM-related initiatives, potentially participating as a panelist or expert.
- Collaborate with Gazebo and Strategy & Products teams to fully utilize Gazebo's capabilities, create platform-first approaches to energy management, and support Gazebo's evolution to enhance and differentiate current and future SEM delivery.

Qualifications
Applicants for this role are required to have:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, engineering, or other related field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Solid background in industrial energy efficiency
- Five or more years of direct experience managing team performance, scopes of work, and/or contracts that deliver energy efficiency in the industrial sector
