As a Solar and Storage Project Director at Centrica Business Solutions, you will be responsible for the successful hiring, employee development and day-to-day management of the solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) staff. The Project Director takes a hands-on approach to ensuring all solar and BESS projects are developed to a high level of quality control and adherence to CBS project development standards.

Open to flexible work schedules working fully remote or hybrid but must be able to travel as needed (25-50%)

The Solar and Storage Project Director effectively manages the complete design, development, and assist Project Management during construction for solar PV and BESS projects by:

• Planning and making decisions regarding growth of the solar and BESS development team and their capabilities.

• Recruiting and hiring new solar and BESS staff.
• Successfully delivering solar and BESS projects that meet or exceed the energy savings and generation associated with these projects.
• Scheduling, delegating, providing feedback, and actively managing performance of all members of BU engineering team.
• Participating in and supervising all solar and BESS development related activities, including scope of work, design, commissioning, and measurement and verification (M&V).
• Providing leadership, including training and mentorship, to enable career growth of new solar and BESS staff.
• Actively participating in project development, including, taking the lead in building and enhancing customer relationships, work hard to develop our customers trust, give proposal presentations, actively network, etc.
• Directly performing on-site solar and BESS audits, engineering, energy calculations and design projects, as necessary.
• Coordinating with business development staff, project managers and subcontractors to ensure feasibility of designs and accuracy of project budgets.
• Engaging and developing relationships with design engineering sub-consultants and actively managing sub-consultant agreements.
• Monitoring and reporting on professional services budgets and costs to complete throughout the duration of projects to ensure project profitability.

The core components of success are (i.e. must haves):

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Electrical, Renewables, or Mechanical disciplines
• 5+ years of work experience in Solar Development or Construction of renewable energy systems.
• Experience using Solar Design and Modeling Software - Preferred Helioscope, Energy ToolBase, and or PV Syst.
• Valid Driver's License; Travel required with employee's automobile

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000-$180,000 + bonus + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
