Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response
This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.
Position Summary
This is an IBEW Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E.
4/10 Monday-Thursday nights 8pm-6am. work schedule
An employee who works alone and without direct supervision performing the following compliance-related work:
PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $53.39 to $60.95, subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

- Larger Scale/Complex Locate and Mark projects
- Provide oversight to third-party problematic excavator worksites
- Atmospheric Corrosion Inspections
- Pipeline Patrolling
- Standby of Transmission and Critical Distribution facilities
- Pilot and operate new leak survey tools and equipment and locate and mark tools and equipment
- Below ground leak rechecks outside of routine leak surveys
- Shall utilize specialized tools and equipment to perform difficult-to-locate gas facilities duties

Job Responsibilities
- Initiates Gas Corrective forms for abnormal operating conditions found in field.
- Completes required paperwork to make corrections / updates to Gas Mapping when discrepancies are found in the field.
- Performs larger scale/complex Locate and Mark projects, delineates work area, and calls USA for grade one immediate response work.
- Performs atmospheric corrosion inspections.
- Performs pipeline patrolling.
- Provides oversight to third-party problematic excavator worksites.
- DOT-Operations/Maintenance AND Emergency
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one within first day of hire
- Ability to work in all types of weather extremes
- Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions
- Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Desired:
- Must attend and pass a Utility Worker Training course, provided by PG&E, during the initial weeks of employment
- CA CDL Class A Permit, or equivalent, based on operational need
- Previous experience in Gas or Electric
- Previous customer service experience
- To better represent the communities we serve within a timely manner, applicants who live within 35 miles of the headquarter location will be given preference
- Previous Military experience
- Graduation from a PowerPathway® Program is preferred
- Current or past work experience with PG&E and/or Hiring Hall
- Previously or currently Operator qualified in locate and mark by Veriforce or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of utility or related experience
