Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Repairs water and wastewater lines; cleans and inspects pipes; installs repair parts and evaluates effectiveness of repair.
- Installs water and wastewater infrastructure including, but not limited to, mains, services, and laterals; taps and meters; valves; manholes; air relief valves; fire hydrants; cleanouts, etc.
- Assists in excavation; operates air hammer to break rock and asphalt; uses pick and shovel to remove dirt and rock from excavations; uses probe to locate pipes.
- Cleans wastewater lines; uses hand and / or machine rods to unclog or clean mains & laterals.
- Performs line locates of water and wastewater infrastructure in accordance with Texas One Call laws.
- Cleans & maintains tools and equipment.
- Drives various trucks, primarily dump trucks, to haul material related to the repair and installation of water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Loads, unloads, and operates dump trucks and other heavy equipment.
- Installs traffic control in strict accordance with state and federal manuals of traffic control devices.
- Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Class A CDL License and Tanker Endorsement
- TCEQ Licenses C Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection I OR D Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection II
