Job Description Template 2024Reference Number WAK-TAR-072 Project Windanker Grade Senior Position title SMA Project Manager Reporting to Lead Project Manager Duration Start Date: 01/07/2025 End Date: 31/12/2025 Working Location(s) London-Berlin Working Pattern Monday- Friday 5 days a week (Required to be in the office 2 days a week the minimum) Main Purpose of Job The Senior Project Manager SMA role is located within the O&M department of the Offshore Renewables business. The role will be working in the O&M package of the Windanker project reporting to the Lead Project Manager. The O&M package are responsible for taking the project through the post-FID (Final Investment Decision) and readiness phases to ensure the project is fully prepared for operation. This includes control of the Service and Maintenance Agreement (SMA), monitoring the OPEX model, ensuring that all O&M contracts are in place prior to O&M handover, recruitment of the site team and developing processes, procedures and operational tools. The Service and Maintenance Agreement (SMA) is a key contract for the operational phase of the offshore windfarm. The main purpose of the Senior Project Manager role is to provide technical support during the negotiation phase of the SMA with the wind turbine supplier, with a focus on the technical schedules. This includes organisational tasks, drafting technical schedules, obtaining RFIs (Requests for Information) for an accurate OPEX forecast and development of the strategy for logistics. Key Tasks • Ensure that project requirements are developed with a strong emphasis on health, safety, quality and environmental compliance • Assist the Lead Project Manager SMA in the negotiation of the WTG SMA, focused on the technical requirements • Assist the Lead Project Manager SMA in the organisation of negotiation meetings with the WTG Supplier, follow up of actions, ensuring all milestones are met • Leading the updating and re-drafting of SMA technical schedules, including the identification of issues with highest risk for IBD and/or items for escalation • Assist the Lead Project Manager SMA in obtaining RFIs (Requests for Information) to develop the OPEX estimations for FID • Develop the BoP contracting strategy, liaising with Purchasing and each project work package to ensure a robust handover process to O&M • Supporting development of the overall project O&M strategy • Gather lessons learned from other operational projects and implement where appropriate to ensure continuous improvement within offshore operations and maintenance. • In addition to the tasks outline above the individual shall also be required to carry out typical project management activities such as reporting, planning, risk management and resource management. Key Criteria • Essential - Organising their own workload, setting overall annual and project objectives in conjunction with the Lead Project Manager SMA - Delivering timely updates to the technical schedules within the SMA and propose strategies for technical issues - Contributing to the final SMA contract, obtaining RFIs (Requests for Information) for OPEX forecasts and development of the strategy for logistics Job Description Template 2024 2 - Making recommendations to project's senior management team and provide regular documented updates or attend meetings - Contributing to the following meetings: - Weekly meeting with O&M project team - Support SMA negotiation meetings with wind turbine manufacturer - where required - Must have sound knowledge of Offshore Wind Operations and Maintenance - Experience, knowledge and understanding negotiation of multimillion pound commercial contracts. - Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal, particularly related to multicultural relationships, and ability to present effectively to management teams. - Strong understanding of H&S legislation applicable to offshore operations and electrical generation. - Experience of managing interfaces of multidisciplinary teams spread across multiple locations. - Ability to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing working environment and demonstrate a positive approach to change. - Advanced user of Microsoft office applications. - Organisation of meetings with minute-taking and follow up of actions. - Has a good understanding of an organisational set up within a project. - Basic understanding among the difference of corporate, construction and operations. • Desirable - Minimum five years offshore wind experience is preferred, alternatively significant experience in a relevant discipline - Offshore wind experience is preferred, alternatively significant experience in a relevant discipline - NEBOSH/IOSH certificate or equivalent HSE qualification Key Interfaces The job holder will need to maintain communication with the following groups / teams and internal stakeholders including: INTERNAL • Principal Project Manager O&M • O&M Asset Integrity team • O&M Commercial team • Health & Safety Manager • Offshore H | S | Q Business Office • Global Technical Services (GTS) team • Project packages (OSS, Foundations, Array Cables) as required • Site Manager(s) and Construction Manager(s) • Operations staff Certifications to Be Maintained for the Duration of the Role ?
