About this Role:
The Roof Lead is responsible for the installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential rooftops. This role involves working on a team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality solar system installations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install racking systems and solar panels on residential roofs
- Safely operate and tow a truck and trailer
- Mount and seal penetrations for electrical and racking systems
- Perform maintenance and testing of PV systems
- Read blueprints and schematics
- Interact with customers professionally on-site
- Run conduit and wire on roofs
- Seal structural penetrations with appropriate materials
- Configure AC and DC electrical systems
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Complete job documentation and reports accurately
- Assist Foreman and Regional Operations Manager with additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of residential solar installation experience required
- OSHA certification preferred
- Proficiency with tools, equipment, and materials related to solar installation
- Working knowledge of NEC codes and PV systems
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to protocols
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and wiring diagrams
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean MVR
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work at heights and on rooftops
- Able to lift 50-75 lbs. frequently
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Stand, kneel, climb, and bend for extended periods
