If you are seeking an opportunity as a Shipping Supervisor, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Louisville, KY, you will be responsible for supervising all shipping functions, and shipping department staff for the Emerson Louisville location.

In this role, Your responsibilities will be:
  • Manage capacity planning in shipping departments to ensure there are enough qualified employees available to ensure timely and accurate processing of outgoing customer shipments.
  • Lead all aspects of Finished Good's inventory including space, stocking locations, FIFO, skid and small parcel goods.
  • Responsible for managing shipping team daily and ensuring cross-training efforts are met.
  • Connect with freight forwarders to schedule pickups and complete required documentation.
  • Ensures customer expectations with relation to on-time deliveries are met or exceeded.
  • Works with Production Manager to develop accurate metrics for the shipping department.     
  • Performs employee mentorship, counseling, focusing, and measuring performance.
  • Accurate reporting as directed by Production Manager for internal and external use.
  • Professional communication in verbal and written form is expected at all times.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information is required.
  • Leads using established company policies and procedures fairly and consistently, engages HR when appropriate.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely payroll entry.
  • Participate on production improvement teams, safety, and other activities as assigned.
  • Responsible for 5S maintenance improvements and audits.
  • Additional responsibilities may be advised by location to include other area back-up and rotation.

You are an individual that has the ability to collaborate across different functions within a location, is willed to take action and able to communicate effectively.

For this role, you will need:
  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Manufacturing or Warehousing & Distribution.
  • Must be able to adhere to and follow company values
  • Must be self-directed to meet deadlines as assigned
  • Proficient use of ERP/WMS, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to lead a team of employees to meet daily departmental goals
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.


Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • A minimum of 3 years of related Manufacturing or Warehousing & Distribution experience.
