Project Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of medium-size projects, typically valued between $3-5 million USD annually. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with ABB policies, contractual obligations, quality standards, and health, safety, and environmental requirements. You will showcase your project management expertise by applying industry best practices and advanced project scheduling techniques to manage progress, mitigate risks, and ensure financial and operational targets are met. The work model for the role is: #onsite #onsite-Li This role is contributing to the Project Operations Manager in Egypt. Main stakeholders are internal project team members, external suppliers and subcontractors, customers, Supply Chain Management, and regulatory bodies. You will be mainly accountable for: • Leading the project team, allocating tasks, defining guidelines, and motivating both internal and external resources to achieve project milestones • Monitoring and controlling project progress, ensuring efficient resource utilization and adherence to schedule commitments • Overseeing project financials, including invoicing, costs, expenses, and cash flow management • Identifying, assessing, and managing project risks, while proactively pursuing opportunities for improvement and optimization • Ensuring compliance with ABB policies and best practices throughout the project lifecycle • Providing performance feedback and guidance to allocated project resources, ensuring effective execution of tasks • Capturing, analyzing, and sharing lessons learned to improve future project performance • Coordinating with Supply Chain Management to procure services and materials, and supporting negotiations with suppliers • Acting as the primary point of contact for the customer and handling project-related escalations • Ensuring formal project close-out in accordance with contractual agreements and company health, safety, and environmental policies You will join a dynamic, talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

• You are immersed in project management tools and methodologies such as SAP, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project, and the industrial engineering market
• You have advanced skills in managing medium to large-scale projects, with 3-5 years of experience in project management
• You possess an enhanced knowledge of ABB certified APM (or equivalent), with PMP certification being an advantage
• You are passionate about leading teams, managing resources, and ensuring efficient project execution, with a focus on delivering within budget and schedule
• Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, with extensive knowledge in project management
• You are at ease communicating in English (French is an advantage)
• You hold a current ABB certified APM (or equivalent) certification
• You are highly adept in utilizing project management tools like SAP, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project to monitor progress, financials, and risks throughout the project lifecycle
• You are eligible to work in the job location, holding any necessary visas or work permits
