This position reports to
Head of Sales Europe - Pulp & Paper
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will drive the growth of service offerings within the pulp and paper industry across Europe, with a primary focus on service agreements and on-demand services. Your efforts will contribute to the profitable expansion of existing agreements and the acquisition of new ones. The service portfolio you'll work with includes process improvement, asset performance enhancement, lifecycle management, and both preventative and corrective maintenance - prioritized in that order. You will collaborate closely with sales and operations colleagues in Local Business Lines (LBLs) across European countries to achieve these goals. Together with the LBLs, you will share accountability for meeting regional targets related to orders, revenue, and gross margin. You will report to the European Regional Sales Manager for Pulp and Paper and receive functional guidance from the Global Service Manager for Pulp and Paper. Key responsibilities: - You will support colleagues in understanding customer needs and identifying the most suitable service solutions to meet those needs, helping to grow ABB's service business. You'll play a key role in shaping and communicating the value of service offerings - both internally and externally. - You'll actively participate in, or lead, customer-facing discussions, presentations, and negotiations, working in close partnership with local sales teams. Your expertise will be a resource for salespeople and service teams, providing guidance on offerings, pricing, proposals, and other areas that help maintain sales momentum. - In addition to supporting service sales, you'll also contribute to modernization project sales in a way that complements the efforts of product line specialists. You'll help ensure that local strategies align with regional and global objectives, and you'll support the European Regional Sales Manager in defining strategic actions for the region. - You'll help maintain accurate representation of service opportunities in the CRM system, ensuring visibility into the sales pipeline across the region. By collaborating with service operations, you'll contribute to understanding customer success and identifying opportunities for improvement. - Your role also involves gathering market intelligence and insights from sales teams to better understand customer needs and competitor offerings, with a focus on tailoring approaches to local market expectations. You'll represent ABB's service solutions at regional marketing events, including campaigns, trade fairs, exhibitions, and conferences.

Qualifications for the role
- To be successful in this role, you bring a strong foundation in sales or business development, ideally within a process industry or in an automation/digital context. Experience in the service domain and pulp & paper industry is especially valuable.
- You have approximately five years of relevant experience and hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in fields such as Engineering, Business, Marketing, or Finance.
- You communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken. Additional language skills - particularly in German, French, Swedish, or Spanish - are highly appreciated. For logistical reasons, EU citizenship is preferred.
- You thrive in collaborative environments and take a solution-focused approach to challenges. Your communication skills help you build trust and credibility with both customers and colleagues. You understand the value of digital tools in delivering services and are comfortable navigating complex portfolios. You're proactive, reliable, and able to balance support with assertiveness to drive progress.
- Curiosity and a desire to continuously learn - especially about new technologies and service models - are key traits that help you grow in this role. Familiarity with tools like Salesforce is a bonus.
- This role involves frequent travel within Europe - typically weekly or biweekly - with occasional trips beyond Europe.
