Job Description Summary

The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. GE Aerospace Engine Services Malaysia (GEESM) in Subang plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and performance of aviation fleets every day. Role Overview:
  • Ability to create tooling/fixturing designs via UG and AutoCAD (mechanical design)
  • Ability to create engineering drawings & articulate GR&R & GD&T solutions
  • Working knowledge of motion control systems, hydraulics systems, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to work with EHS to improve operator safety
  • Ability to project manage the delivery and fabrication & repair of tooling/fixturing- in-house and out sourced
  • Technical expert responsible for delivering fixturing and tooling solutions to drive business improvements (delivery, quality, safety, cost, scrap reduction, new repair introduction, etc.)
  • Engineering associated with the design, fabrication, and industrialization of fixturing/tooling for Services- Overhaul & Repair
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (Examples: Lathes, CNC, machining, benching/blending, forming, EDM, etc.)
  • Coordinate with global peers to leverage best practices, communicate lessons learned, and promote standardization across Services value stream
  • Ability to interpret Engine Manual and Standard Practice Manual requirements
  • Institutionalize LEAN practices to improve delivery
  • Ability to work with vendors for the design and fabrication of tooling & fixturing
  • Actively drive preventive maintenance for all the tools.
  • Support entire shop floor, troubleshoot various production challenges as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes inside & external to the department.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the calibration technician fostering a productive and cohesive team environment.
  • Maintain and improve calibration procedures and processes
  • Manage the calibration activities as required to maintain regulatory compliance, including but not limited to maintaining a master calibration list, calibration schedules, and control of supporting calibration documentation and ensure adherence to all related SOP's.
  • Ensure all calibration activities align with manufacturer's standards and specifications, guaranteeing the accuracy and reliability of equipment.
  • Maintain calibration records and prepare reports as required
  • Ensure calibration activities and contractors are coordinated into the operational schedules as required to limit operational downtime while ensuring calibrations have been completed and documented prior to the due date.
  • Monitor the calibration processes to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. Address any discrepancies or issues promptly
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by superior or Management from time to time.


The Ideal Candidate:
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented leader with strong technical knowledge in tooling and calibration systems, preferably with experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing. The ideal candidate should be proactive in driving process improvements, ensuring compliance, and capable of leading a team to meet operational and quality standards


Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Engineering or its equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in a similar capacity
  • Proficient in engineering calculation & material characteristics.
  • Interpret Engineering / Technical Drawing, MSA, GD&T and GR&R
  • Good in analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of validation, calibration/ verification process.
  • Proactive, result oreinted, good communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of hazards and precautions associated with plant operations and processes
  • Proven ability to interpret manufacturers' operations and maintenance manuals and apply the indicated practices
  • Demonstrated the understanding of safety, quality and LEAN methodologies in the workplace. Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn
