Job Summary:
The Global Process Owner (GPO) - HR Shared Services will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of Payroll and Time & Absence processes within the Payroll Time and Absence lifecycle. The GPO will play a strategic role, have global coverage, act as a subject matter expert and lead the discovery, review, and optimization of current processes, design future-state solutions, support transitions to shared services or third-party vendors, and establish global process standards and governance frameworks ensuring strong governance and compliance. The GPO will work cross-functionally with HR, Technology, and Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Management and Shared Service Delivery teams to deliver high-performing, scalable, and efficient processes globally. Successful applicant would have led global payroll transformation and out-sourcing projects.

Responsibilities
Process Design, Documentation, and Governance
- Define L1-L4 HR process taxonomy and map activities/tasks at L4-L5 levels.
- Design and implement best-in-class, standardized Payroll and Time & Absence processes.
- Develop process documentation including SOPs, process maps, analytics, and business cases.
- Develop appropriate payroll compliance processes and guidelines and ensure payroll process design is aligned with these.
- Partner with Knowledge Management to create and maintain HR knowledge articles.
- Serve as the process expert; no changes to processes should occur without GPO involvement.
- Support system implementations and enhancements impacting HR processes.
- Provide solution design and transition support for outsourced payroll vendor initiatives.
- Establish change control protocols and ensure user compliance across all regions.
Process Analysis and Metrics
- Conduct thorough analysis of process performance (volume, time-spend, cycle time, FTE ratios).
- Work with Shared Services to define and monitor SLAs and KPIs for operational excellence.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with Continuous Improvement (CI) specialists to:
- Build and maintain a pipeline of optimization opportunities focused on efficiency, user experience, and cost savings.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify and address process issues.
- Drive automation and robotic process automation (RPA) initiatives.
- Develop business cases to support investment in process improvements.

- Strong business acumen and understanding of cross-functional impacts of process change.
- Strategic thinking with a hands-on service delivery approach.
- Skilled facilitator and stakeholder manager across all organizational levels.
- Confident presenter with excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive initiatives independently.
- Self-motivated and capable of delivering under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; graduate degree preferred.
- 6-8 years' experience in payroll transformation, operations, or vendor management.
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, regulations, and time/absence policies.
- Global experience preferred, especially across NAM, LAM, Asia, MENA, and KSA.
- Experience with Oracle HCM Payroll, OTL, and platforms such as ADP, PayAsia, or Deel.
- Proven track record in process mapping, process ownership, and transformation initiatives.
- Project/program management experience required.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Visio or similar process mapping tools.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
