- Develop and implement Human Resources strategies and initiatives that align with the business objectives.
- Direct professional Human Resources staff to provide for the requirements of manufacturing employees consistent with established policies, business plans, laws and regulations.
- Manage day-to-day employee relations across all client groups, resolving internal disputes, conducting investigations, coaching managers, and recommending actions that address root causes of issues.
- Use sound judgment and discretion while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality in all HR matters.
- Interpret, advise, and counsel employees and leadership on policies and HR procedures.
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing policies, processes, and practices, making recommendations where appropriate to position the organization to attract and retain top talent.
- Identify training needs and collaborate with leaders to implement programs that enhance workforce capabilities.
- Coordinate with plant leaders to develop recruitment strategies to achieve required staffing levels, establish and manage a sustainable talent pipeline for critical staffing of the organization, and build programs for both new hires and co-op/interns.
- Manage the communication and celebration of commemorative and seniority recognition events.
- Support Employee Resource groups and other employee initiatives in conjunction with Plant Management.
- Support and drive One Emerson values
- Lead the annual Human Resources audit, ensuring compliance with objectives and procedures.
- Prepare various payroll reports and other ad hoc reports to various stakeholders and government agencies.
- Prepare and administer the annual Human Resources department budget.
- Work in conjunction with the Compensation Manager regarding programs that include annual merit review cycle, bonus and equity plans for various client groups.
- Comply with all applicable Environmental, Safety and Health standards and objectives while supporting safety initiatives within the plant.
- Other special projects and duties as assigned.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial relations or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a HR leadership role.
- Union negotiation experience.
- Advanced English (B1, C2, C1)
- Previous experience in managing, developing and coaching a team.
- Solid knowledge of federal labor law, social security law, tax law and labor relations management.
- Solid knowledge of payroll processing, incidences, calculations, salary movements, HR indicators and database management.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making, interpersonal, communication, presentation and influence skills.
- Strong customer service focus with a high level of responsiveness.
- Ability to interact and partner with high-level management and employees from a variety of backgrounds/disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Master's degree
- HR leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Oracle HCM software
