ABB
At ABB, we help industries outrun - leaner and cleaner. Here, progress is an expectation - for you, your team, and the world. As a global market leader, we'll give you what you need to make it happen. It won't always be easy, growing takes grit. But at ABB, you'll never run alone. Run what runs the world.
This Position reports to:
Marketing & Sales Manager
Your role and responsibilities:
In this position, you are accountable for driving the long-term profitable growth of the Grinding portfolio within the Business Line Mining. Your scope spans both Solutions and Service offerings, and you ensure ABB has a deep understanding of market requirements - translating them into offering specifications and actionable development activities.
You take ownership of the entire offering lifecycle, supporting development, manufacturing, launch, maintenance, pricing, and profitability. You define and maintain technical and market specifications that align with customer needs, regulatory frameworks, and mining industry standards.
To succeed, you define clear customer value propositions for each segment and channel, ensuring they are effectively communicated through internal enablement and customer-facing materials. You develop and maintain a strategic business plan for your portfolio, focused on sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness in the mining sector.
You continuously analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify portfolio gaps and emerging opportunities, shaping and prioritizing the roadmap for both products and services. You lead installed base mapping by region, maintain accurate data in ServIS, and collaborate with Sales, Service, and Training teams to address lifecycle stages and service coverage.
You follow up on development projects to ensure timely and budget-conscious execution, aligning cross-functional teams for smooth delivery and market readiness. You manage the full lifecycle of offerings - monitoring performance, planning enhancements and cost optimizations, and making informed decisions on phase-outs and obsolescence.
In addition, you support Sales in strategic opportunities, engage directly with key customers, and represent the portfolio at trade shows and industry events.
Qualifications for the Role:
To be successful in this role, you bring a strong educational foundation with a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering. You have at least five years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, or Service, and your familiarity with grinding mills, drives, or motors in the mining industry gives you a distinct edge.
You're confident working with digital applications and remote service platforms, and you've had exposure to agile product development. You know how to uncover user needs and deliver compelling user experiences. Your analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and organizational abilities make you self-driven and highly focused.
You communicate clearly and persuasively, and you know how to foster collaboration across diverse teams. Fluency in English is essential, and if you also speak German, that's a strong advantage.
While ABB welcomes applications from around the world, the preferred location for this role is either Switzerland (Baden) or Canada (Montreal).
