Wood is currently recruiting for a Junior scaffolding to join its Iraq business unit focusing on supervising and coordinating the activities of construction supervisors and engineers within assigned areas for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Basra, Iraq on 6/1 cycle.
This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with travel requirement.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Junior scaffolding to join our Iraq Business Unit.

This Project aims to take over the existing asset and maximize the production in 2 phases. This is a fast-track project and schedule-oriented Design to enhance the production.
The Phase 1 will restore, upgrade, and develop the current plant (CPF1) including: Restoration of initial CPF1 capacity; building a new export pipeline (24", ~30km); restoration of CPF1 integrity and operability; flaring elimination and released water; development of new flowlines, pads, and electrification network for approximately 30 new wells; debottlenecking of the plant; upgrade of the Safety and Security facilities.
Our scope is to provide Engineering, Procurement services and Construction assistance (EPsCa) for the initial development phase of the field in Southern Iraq. The scope of services includes FEED, detailed design, procurement support, and construction and commissioning assistance.

Key Objectives
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction supervisors and engineers within assigned areas. Provide daily supervisory surveillance checks and records, ensuring that contractors' management and supervision are providing safe working conditions and permit procedures, protective equipment, experienced / qualified supervision and manpower, with reliable, well-maintained equipment to execute the contracted works as per contract schedule and targets
- Routinely study, check, review and validate the discipline scope of work against the appropriate Contract Requisition to ensure the Contractors
- Ensure that the contractors scaffold material is of an approved type and that contractor scaffolders are experienced and qualified in its use
- Ensure that all false works are approved before they are erected
- Ensure that all scaffold structures and false work are controlled by a Scaftag type system
- Ensure that only qualified scaffold personnel modify scaffold structures, false work, and move scaffold boards
- Proactive in providing support to project team in assigned project work as and when required

Expected:
- Vocation, Diploma, bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical or related field
- Min of 0 _5 years of experience in Scaffolding in the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Construction environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Considerable experience of supervising Scaffolding contractors to achieve effective construction execution
