About the position:
The IT Technical Lead - IIoT will own the strategy, prioritization, and internal commercialization of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things), ensuring effective management of capacity and work deliverables. This role involves leading a team of IT professionals, driving technological innovation, and aligning IT initiatives with business goals.
Key responsibilities:
• Develop and implement the strategy for IIoT within the organization
• Prioritize and manage the internal commercialization of IIoT
• Oversee the capacity planning and work deliverables related to IIoT
• Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of IIoT Platform implementations
• Monitor and report on the performance and effectiveness of IIoT
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in IIoT
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts related to IIoT
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 10-15 years of experience in IT, with 5+ years focus on IIoT
• Experienced with Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Linux containers
• Knowledgeable in virtualization deployment and lifecycle management
• Skilled with IoT sensors (cellular, LoRaWAN, BLE, WiFi) and business unit instrumentation
• Proficient with Azure IoT Hub, LoRaWAN Network Servers, MQTT/Sparkplug B, Ignition, and Aveva PI
• Experienced with Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and connectivity
• Knowledgeable in device management, connectivity, and CMMS (Maximo, S4HANA, ServiceNow)
• Proven experience in leading and managing IT teams
• Strong understanding of IIoT and its application
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Professional certifications related to IIoT
• Familiarity with core Azure services relevant to IIoT, including Azure IoT Hub, Azure Digital Twins, and Azure Stream Analytics. Understanding how these services facilitate device connectivity, data processing, and analytics is crucial
• Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
