Wood is recruiting for a Senior Commercial Manager to join its Operations business focusing on Oil & Gas. This opportunity is hybrid US based, and the successful candidate would preferably be located near one of our US offices (Houston, TX, Midland/Odessa, TX. Sheridan, WY, Longmont, CO). We will also consider other US locations on a case-by-case basis.

The Role
The Senior Commercial Manager will lead commercial strategy and execution across Wood's US Oil & Gas business, supporting asset management, construction, and operations projects. This role partners with leadership to drive value creation, manage risk, and ensure commercial governance from pre-contract through project delivery and closeout.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders and BD teams to develop and protect commercial value across the O&G portfolio
- Lead the preparation, review, and negotiation of tenders, contracts, change orders, and dispute resolutions
- Coordinate commercial inputs including pricing, estimating, and margin development for proposals
- Manage approval workflows and ensure compliance with Wood's commercial governance processes
- Liaise with legal, contracts, insurance, tax, treasury, and finance teams to align commercial strategies
- Support implementation of the Financial Management Framework and monitor key financial metrics
- Oversee invoicing, billing cycles, and accounts receivable in line with contract terms
- Maintain commercial registers and ensure timely reporting of secured orders, claims, and project status
- Mentor junior commercial staff and promote best practices in commercial models and processes
- Drive process efficiency, margin improvement, and risk mitigation across the business
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Legal
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing commercial activities in a relevant industry
- Strong knowledge of commercial practices in engineering, construction, or O&M contracts
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability
- Authorized to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship
Desirable
- Experience with Oracle business systems
- Knowledge of engineering design, equipment supply, and construction contracts
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree
- Experience in the oil, gas, or LNG sectors
