Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Telescope Network Operations Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and reporting of a distributed network of space domain awareness telescopes. This role involves hands-on technical work, coordination with remote teams, and direct customer interaction to ensure the successful delivery of contract milestones and system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Tasking and Scheduling: Manage and prioritize observation tasks across a small network of telescopes to meet scientific and operational goals. System Checkout: Perform regular hardware and software diagnostics, maintenance, and validation to ensure optimal telescope performance. Customer Interface: Serve as a primary point of contact for customer communications, addressing inquiries, updates, and technical discussions. Reporting: Generate detailed system status reports and performance summaries for internal and external stakeholders. Deliverables Preparation: Compile and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and presentations in accordance with contract requirements. Deployment & Maintenance Planning: Develop and execute plans for the deployment, upgrade, and maintenance of telescope systems. Remote Coordination: Collaborate with remote site support staff to ensure smooth operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement system updates.
Required Qualifications:
Experience with telescope systems, remote sensing equipment, or similar technical infrastructure. Strong technical troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software domains. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in report writing and presentation development. Ability to work independently and coordinate across distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with telescope observation planning, data acquisition, and data processing. Familiarity with Linux-based systems and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Prior experience in a customer-facing technical role. Project management or systems engineering experience.

Clearance Level: Secret with ability to get TS/SCI
Basic Compensation:
$83-120k
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
