Role Description

We are pleased to be hiring an experienced Technical Supervisor within our specialist Gas team. This key role will be responsible for delivering a range of work streams including carrying out improvements, responsive and planned maintenance. Directly managing operatives and engineers, and responsible for delivering the gas boiler install programme and related maintenance services to our customers. With expert technical skills and knowledge, you will support the Service Delivery Manager to maximise productivity and efficiency to deliver excellent contract performance and meet business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise gas related operations across a range of building construction maintenance activity and deliver successful services that achieve business objectives and meet customer needs.
• Ensure operatives are fully deployed and maximum productivity is achieved.
• Identify discrepancies and take appropriate action, advising line management as/when this occurs.
• Visit sites to undertake inspections of works and/or liaise with trade operatives, customers, contractors or statutory bodies to resolve day to day operational issues and ensure high satisfaction is achieved.
• Carry out performance management tasks through regular 1-2-1's, review meetings, disciplinary investigations and deliver tool-box talks.
• Undertake and accurately record work-in-progress, post inspections, health and safety inspections and act accordingly on findings.
• Understand the key performance targets, ensuring appropriate measurement processes are in place to achieve desired outcomes and objectives.
• Understand and value the benefit of strong teamwork and foster this in all activities undertaken, developing a teamwork approach to improve performance.
• Build a collaborative team through motivation and encouragement of staff, help and support the operations teams in all aspects including being hands on to help deliver works.
• Work collaboratively with other teams as needed, understand the different roles and responsibilities each has.
• Supervision of the LBBD Council's DLO (We Fix) workforce and the associated delivery of the programme of work as defined in the Services Management Contract.
• Ensure compliance with appropriate legislation, company policy and procedures, financial rules and other requirements as applicable at all times.
• Promote the development of a high-quality customer led service, to comply at all times with the company's policies and procedures, particularly those regarding Data Protection, Equalities and Diversity and Health and Safety.
• Undertake a proactive, committed approach towards commercial focus and awareness to deliver services efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

City & Guilds or equivalent in a trade discipline

Site Management Safety Training Scheme

HNC/ONC (or equivalent) in Building (preferred)

Gas Safe Registered in works types domestic servicing and installation(preferred)

Gas Safe Registered in works types commercial boilers servicing and installation (preferred)

Skills and Experience

Experience of Local Authority or a related field of work, and preferably gained working within a DLO or contractor environment

Experience of working at a managerial level and of managing a multidisciplinary team

Experience of working within a highly commercialised environment

Demonstrable experience of leading and managing change initiatives to support organisation objectives

Proven experience of leading and applying continuous improvement practices to improve service user outcomes

Location: Dagenham

Office based (with some flexibility for hybrid working available).

Salary: £50,000
