Job Overview:
The R&M Technician III is responsible for providing hands-on technical support in the inspection, repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of oilfield tools and equipment. Operating primarily within the workshop, the technician ensures field equipment is serviced to meet quality and safety standards while minimizing downtime. This role involves diagnosing issues, executing preventive and corrective maintenance, and may require occasional on-site field support.
Responsibilities:
Perform disassembly, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, assembly, and packaging of tools and equipment per operational procedures.
Lead preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize uptime of equipment.
Identify, report, and resolve recurring maintenance and quality issues.
Utilize lifting equipment, forklifts, and cranes in line with certifications and safety guidelines.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and job tracking via internal systems (e.g., TimeTrac).
Support field operations as required by conducting on-site R&M tasks.
Monitor and reorder consumables, spares, and ensure stock levels support efficient workshop operations.
Liaise with manufacturing leads, engineers, and subcontractors on technical issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and operational processes.
Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and JHA activities.
Skills:
Required:
Hands-on mechanical and technical troubleshooting
Equipment diagnostics and tool inspection
Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Safe operation of forklifts, cranes, and pressure testing equipment
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
Knowledge of QHSE standards, NDT/NDE, and ATEX principles
Preferred:
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
Strong communication and team coordination abilities
Understanding of asset utilization and maintenance KPIs
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
2-6+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry (specifically in repair & maintenance)
Certified in forklift and overhead crane operations
Preferred:
Technical or vocational training in mechanical or petroleum disciplines
Prior experience with R&M tasks for Tubular Running Services.
