KBR is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Enterprise Architect to support enterprise-wide modernization and transformation initiatives for a mission-oriented federal agency. This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud architecture for multi-tier or hybrid applications, virtualized infrastructure, and enterprise cloud ecosystems-as well as strategic insight into business planning and IT transformation.
The Enterprise Architect will collaborate with stakeholders to align mission-critical services to a future-state technology vision, define transformation roadmaps, and deliver enterprise architecture support that accelerates the agency's IT modernization objectives.

The Enterprise Architect will collaborate with stakeholders to align mission-critical services to a future-state technology vision, define transformation roadmaps, and deliver enterprise architecture support that accelerates the agency's IT modernization objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and oversee enterprise cloud architectures supporting scalable, secure, and resilient multi-tier or hybrid applications.
- Lead the design and governance of virtualized infrastructure and ensure alignment with operational and business goals.
- Provide strategic guidance and support for business capability planning and maturity assessments, helping the agency align IT transformation with mission priorities.
- Translate core services and operational goals into a "north-star" enterprise architecture vision, grounded in best-in-class technology stacks.
- Define, sequence, and prioritize modernization and transformation efforts through the development of strategic, actionable roadmaps.
- Ensure enterprise architecture efforts adhere to ITIL processes and cybersecurity best practices.
- Collaborate across cross-functional technical teams and stakeholders to communicate architectural decisions and align execution to strategy.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in enterprise architecture frameworks, delivery models, and technology investments.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree (M.S.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a closely related field.
- Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in information technology architecture, with specific hands-on experience in:
- Designing multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications
- Managing virtualized infrastructure
- Developing and governing enterprise cloud architectures
- Certifications (ALL are required):
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- ITIL Certification
- Cloud FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP)
- Strategic Experience:
- Direct experience supporting business planning and strategy in federal IT environments.
- Ability to define target-state architectures and sequence transformation through a strategic modernization roadmap.
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust prior to start.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills required, including presentation readiness for customer engagements and orals.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting mission-driven federal agencies with complex IT modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) Framework.
- Familiarity with other architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, DoDAF).
- Deep understanding of cloud economics, optimization, and FinOps principles.
- Knowledge of federal IT governance, modernization policy, and cybersecurity standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, TIC 3.0).
Candidate Profile:
- Strategic thinker and practitioner who can architect complex systems while aligning to federal mission outcomes.
- Comfortable operating in cross-functional teams, leading technical discussions, and influencing stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a bias toward continuous improvement and measurable impact.
