JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for Crane Operator to join our team at Port Moresby in PNG.

The Role

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Operator will be required to unload crane accessories from trailers or support vehicles and receive direction from riggers and/or site supervision via verbal or hand signals to determine required load movement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspection & maintenance
  • Inspect the condition of the site at which the work is to be carried out before start of work
  • Adjust the Crane according to the site conditions and making sure that all parts of the Crane are in proper working conditions
  • Transporting materials from one place to another
  • Take complete charge of all safety pertaining to setup and knockdown and operation of crane
  • Properly barricades counterweight tail swing radius
  • Be aware of the safe working limits of Crane
  • Ensure loads are not too heavy and that the Crane's reach is not over extended
  • Work closely with riggers, observing and following their directions to guide loads into position
  • Understand and follow lift plans
  • Participate in the development of lift plans


QUALIFICATIONS

What makes you remarkable?
  • 5 years minimum experience in operating cranes
  • Qualified / certified to PNG standards to operate all cranes
  • Good eyesight with the ability to judge distances
  • To be comfortable working at heights
  • To be safety conscious
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions

Additional Requirements:
  • Candidates must have full work rights in PNG to be considered for this role.
