Job Title: Senior Project Manager- EPC
SUMMARY: This leadership role within Baker Electric encompasses the responsibilities of a Senior Project Manager- EPC. The candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing construction projects, ensuring financial success, driving growth in the USS sector, and expanding business units.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaboratively build the business to maximize market opportunities and diversify the customer base. Maintain extensive knowledge of current developments in the Utility Solar Market. Work with Pre-Construction and Estimators to Negotiate contracts with clients. Work with Senior Director of Pre-Construction and other Team Members to Seek new agreed upon Clients and work on their relationship(s).

The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility based on company and individual performance, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Management:
- Establish project objectives and oversee construction activities for utility solar projects.
- Ensure adherence to Baker Electric's Project Management processes and satisfaction of the Vice President of Utility Solar.
- Oversee construction completion in accordance with Contract Documents and building codes.
- Ensure project-associated employees follow project specifications and contract documents.
- Prove financial responsibility by achieving labor, material, equipment, and subcontract budgets.
- Manage the submittal and delivery process, ensuring timely project milestones.
- Build subcontractor pools for various scopes.
- Manage key subcontractors to build long-term relationships so that the risk of project claims and change order disputes are minimized. Key subcontractors are required for several scopes including site, grading, concrete, medium voltage, fencing, etc.
- Subcontract necessary scopes to agreed upon subcontractors. Scope subcontracted items, negotiate terms, and create comprehensive subcontracts.
- Prepare accurate change request estimates and maintain project tracking tools.
- Discuss manpower requirements, monitor labor variance, and manage multiple projects.
- Draft communication to address project conditions, delays, and maintain positive cash flow.
- Manage preconstruction activities, collaborating with Project Engineers / Design Management.
- Train and mentor Assistant Project Managers (APMs) and Project Managers (PMs).
- Develop and Maintain strong relationships with clients on existing projects to ensure repeat business will occur with same client on future projects after project completion.
- Business Development as a SR PM:
- Provide Value Engineering (VE) Ideas and Services to find the best value in USS projects for Baker.
- Work with Estimating to schedule / execute Confirming Estimates during the Design Process at appropriate design milestones (i.e, 30 / 60 / 90 or DD's / 90% / CDs, etc.) to verify that project remains in budget.
- Oversee risk management of estimated costs during the bidding process. Assist Precon with VE options and verify to project budget being developed at Bid time and after project award.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS:
- Utility solar experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in pre-construction management, sales, or business development within the Utility Energy Storage or renewable energy sector.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with clients and key market players.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, particularly related to Utility Energy Storage projects and electrical BOS work.
- Familiarity with California energy regulations, codes, and permitting processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business Management, or related degree and/or 5+ years of applicable electrical estimating, design, or field management experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word / PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM system.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
