Within Canada, our Rail & Transit team has been selected to design and deliver most of the recent Greenfield and Brownfield LRT, ALRT and Light Metro jobs awarded in the last 10 years including the Canada Line, Calgary West LRT, Edmonton North LRT, the Evergreen Line and the Confederation Line. We are actively working on delivering the Trillium Line (Ottawa), Le Réseau express métropolitain (Montreal) and Eglinton-Crosstown (Toronto) and have a number of other projects at the proposal stage or awaiting award.

Our Rail & Transit Engineering and Construction teams deliver systems solutions which include civil infrastructure, alignment and track, traction power and distribution, signalling and train control, and communications. One of the key components of our delivery is Systems Integration encompassing the engineering work required to deliver integrated railways which are safe, secure and fulfil their operational requirements to the satisfaction of our clients.

We are looking for a Systems Integration Lead with an enthusiasm for complex multidisciplinary rail projects, who enjoys problem solving and finding solutions which meet the requirements of multiple stakeholders. If you are a systems integration specialist in any part of the railway industry and have a good understanding of how complex multidisciplinary projects are delivered, then you are the type of person we want to join our team.

This role will be based in Toronto, ON.

Your role within the team:
  • Leading systems integration activities during design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
  • Leading and facilitating Interface Working groups and workshops.
  • Developing interface requirements and documentation and Interacting with the Requirements Management and V&V disciplines.
  • Leading interactions with:
    • Client and stakeholders.
    • Design Management and Technical disciplines.
    • Construction Management and Delivery disciplines.
    • Operation and Maintenance disciplines.
    • System Safety and System Security disciplines.
  • Support of Construction and Installation activities in the field.
  • Support for Test & Commissioning activities.

The ideal candidate:
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • P.Eng designation (or equivalent), ASEP/CSEP and/or PMP are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in light rail, metro or commuter railway systems, with specific project and Systems Integration knowledge and expertise in this domain.
  • Experience with practical application of System Engineering processes and EN 15288 standard - developing, documenting and evidencing systems integration activities across the complete asset / project lifecycle.
  • Experience with Requirements Management Tools such as DOORS NG, MBSE Tools such as IBM Rhapsody and Sparx Enterprise Architect.
  • Excellent written, presentation and communication/briefing skills; able to lead discussions with the clients, suppliers and management as overall delivery lead.
  • This role will be based in Toronto and will be required to spend time on site in hybrid work environment.
