Attention HVAC Techs: Come Grow with Texas Biomed!

Texas Biomed is seeking an HVAC Technician II to grow and expand our facilities department! Performs routine and intermediate maintenance tasks utilizing skills to diagnose problems, make repairs and/or replace worn or defective parts on building systems, machines, laboratory equipment and HVAC equipment. Will be required to participate in SRA Federal background check.

The Role:

• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, and perform on-site repairs or report trouble or outages

• Apply basic electrical (limited to repairs on 120 to 240-volt services as defined by the City of San Antonio Electrical Code) and applicable plumbing skills to facilitate HVAC trade.

• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective action by verifying blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as needed.

• Support routine measurement of noise levels in mechanical areas, IR temperature measurements of equipment, motors, etc., and interprets results.

• Make emergency repairs and adjustments on equipment and serve on Emergency Response Team.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all variations of HVAC equipment and maintain documentation log of filter changes and types of filters used

• Plan and lay out work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals and schematic drawings

• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blue prints, repair manuals and parts catalogs

• Assist with maintaining inventory for HVAC repair materials

• Provide 24/7 on-call emergency service on a rotating basis with other maintenance personnel to ensure system reliability and integrity of operations

Our Ideal Candidate:

Requires a high school diploma or GED with advanced certification and/or licensing obtained in a technical area

Requires at least 3 years HVAC repair and maintenance experience and experience with mechanical piping

2 years HVAC trade application training

Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and installation experience preferred

Requires Texas Operators Driver's License with good driving record
