You will join a strategic department responsible for designing and optimizing grid connection solutions, compliance strategies, and plant control systems for our wind farms, adding value throughout the entire project lifecycle. Responsibilities
- Research and interpret grid connection procedures in Spain; build relationships with grid operators (e.g. REE).
- Collect and maintain transmission grid data to support project planning.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools for electrical and grid-related project support.
- Join technical meetings with consultants, contractors, grid operators, utilities, and clients.
- Support project development across three key areas:
Grid Capacity Identification
- Monitor grid capacity availability and competitor activity on a monthly basis.
- Coordinate feasibility studies to identify suitable areas for grid connection.
- Analyze requirements of public tenders for grid capacity.
- Define conceptual Electrical Balance of Plant (eBoP) solutions and estimate related CapEx.
Grid Connection Applications
- Oversee and review technical documentation for grid connection requests.
- Support the team with technical input for negotiations and applications with system operators.
- Track and report on the status of all grid connection processes.
- Support the preparation of agreements and negotiations on technical grid requirements.
Preliminary Electrical Design
- Manage consultants preparing early-stage electrical designs (substations, cabling, protection systems).
- Review diagrams, layouts, and control/protection schemes.
- Ensure compliance with grid performance standards through internal coordination.
- Support grid simulation studies to analyze energy losses and grid code compliance.
Qualifications
- University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, working on the development of renewable energy (RES) power plants (e.g., wind or solar).
- Previous experience working with REE (Red Eléctrica de España) or Spanish Distribution System Operators (DSOs) is a strong advantage.
- Good understanding of how to apply for grid connections and the technical requirements for connecting renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical equipment (such as substations, transformers, switchgear).
- Familiarity with the Spanish energy market, electrical simulation software, or GIS (Geographic Information System) tools.
- Very good English and Spanish communication skills, both written and spoken.

- Teamwork in an international setting - Able to collaborate effectively across countries and cultures, with minimal supervision.
- Clear and practical communication - Capable of explaining technical topics to non-technical audiences and interacting with grid operators.
- Solution-oriented and able to adjust priorities
