As a Pipefitter at Polk Mechanical, you'll play a critical role in installing and maintaining complex piping systems that power our projects. You'll work with a variety of materials and systems, ensuring precision, safety, and quality every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities:

• Select appropriate pipe types, sizes, and materials based on job specifications
• Inspect worksites to identify obstructions and ensure structural integrity
• Plan installation sequences to avoid conflicts with other trades
• Assemble and install metal and non-metal piping systems, including brass, copper, lead, glass, and plastic
• Join piping using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints
• Secure piping systems using clamps, brackets, and hangers
• Install and maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, and controls
• Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other diagnostic tools
• Perform welding as needed to complete installations

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in pipefitting within the mechanical and HVAC industry
• Ability to work within precise limits and standards of accuracy
• Familiarity with cutting, bending, and welding tools and techniques
• Strong understanding of blueprints, specifications, and system layouts
• Ability to visualize and interpret 3D objects from 2D plans
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork

Apprentice Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on training in pipe installation and tool usage
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the mechanical trades
