The Wells Fargo Commodities Product Group is seeking an experienced individual with trading and/or origination experience in North American physical natural gas markets. The individual will be responsible for growing Wells Fargo's energy desk by originating, trading, and managing transactions involving wholesale natural gas. Generally, transactions will involve working capital and hedging solutions for Wells Fargo's customers. In addition, the individual will be responsible for developing new relationships in these markets for financial hedging and physical trading in Wells Fargo's geographic footprint.
Examples of common transaction structures include physical trading, park and loans, term supply and/or offtake transactions, prepays, intermediations, energy reserve securitizations, and asset management agreements. This team-member will work closely with Wells Fargo's banking partners, as well as legal, credit, market risk, and other members of the trading and structuring teams to manage these transactions, including risk management, modeling, and obtaining customer flow through deal origination.
Wells Fargo is one of the largest domestic lenders to upstream, midstream, and downstream markets for energy, so the depth of potential opportunities with current customers and non-borrowing prospects is extensive.
This position reports into the Markets Division of the Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB). The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.

$173,300.00 - $359,900.00

- Advise experienced leadership to develop client financial objectives
- Analyze gathered facts to reach a conclusion for more complex matters
- Identify opportunities to mitigate legal, regulatory, reputational, and financial risks
- Lead the strategy to gain insight into the clients financial goals that require in-depth evaluation, and deliver solutions that are long-term and large-scale
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to experienced leaders on implementing innovative and significant business solutions for client objectives
- Engage with all levels of professionals and managers companywide and serve as a skilled advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 8+ years of physical natural gas trading, origination, and/or marketing experience
- Deep understanding of energy markets trading or current relationships to originate new opportunities
- Knowledge and understanding of business development: business vision, strategies, and goals
- Experience with trading physical commodities within the financial services industry
- Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
- Strong financial background in capital markets
- Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership
- Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
