Annual CORE (Center Of Recreational Excellence) Corporate Membership is for full-time employees and their eligible family members.
-NMJC offers a campus Wellness Program to promote individual wellness among members of the campus community through education and prevention. This program requires full-time employees to take ONE (1) hour each week from work to participate in physical activity. To sign up for this program, you must complete the NMJC Wellness Program Participation form and turn it in to the Human Resources Office.
Staff Tuition Waiver - A full-time employee of NMJC, their spouse, and eligible children are entitled to a total of nine (9) credit hours of tuition-free credit courses per semester, including course fees. Description
The Director of Oil and Gas shall report to the Vice President of Training and Outreach. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinates and develops non-credit oil and gas curriculum, including lease operator training.
- Develops and manages the oil and gas training facilities; oversees the location, purchasing, and installation of equipment.
- Assist with student recruitment, registration, and job placement, including representing the college and/or program at on and off-campus events and ongoing networking with employers.
- Recruits oil and gas companies to utilize and support New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) training programs; reaches out to industry partners and provides program information, expertise, and support; promotes the oil and gas technology program through the use of community and media involvement.
- Assist with advisory board member recruitment and retention, attend advisory board meetings, and work with the advisory board to develop, validate, and regularly update program content and outcomes.
- Researches and stays up-to-date on petroleum technology trends and attends professional oil and gas industry functions locally, regionally, and nationally.
- Instructs oil and gas classes, as needed.
- Responsible for growing the department by adding new programs based on demand and sustainability.
- Researches, identifies, and recruits potential students.
- Hiring and managing all aspects of contract instructors, including filing all proper paperwork and submitting contracts and invoices.
- May serve on various campus committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the needs of New Mexico Junior College.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in an oil & gas-related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in the production and exploration facets of the oil industry; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Knowledge of department and College policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of curriculum development.
- Knowledge and technical understanding of the oil and gas industry.
- Skill in managing equipment purchases and budgetary oversight.
- Skill in promoting, marketing, and recruiting for educational programs.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Skill in project management and organization.
- Ability to research information related to new oil & gas developments.
- Ability to operate a personal computer proficiently and related software and standard office equipment.
